BRIBANE CITY COUNCIL FERRY INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT

For the second time, one of A Sign’s major projects involved the consideration of major flooding of the Brisbane River, only this time in a preventative manner. The 2011 and 2013 floods devastated Brisbane City Council’s river transport network and A Sign Design was engaged to deliver signage to a total of eleven new ferry terminals across the network. Seven of these terminals were deemed major nodes and as such were fitted with state of the art engineering to withstand a 1 in 1000 year flood. Our work extended from conceptual designs by dotdash and engineering exploration by Aurecon to realise both signage identity and wayfinding within the busy terminals but also large acrylic super-structures designed to envelop the heavy engineering within.
