Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s new Brisbane headquarters had to meet high expectations given the prominent location and the history of their previous site in Toowong. A Sign were engaged under a design and construct (D&C) contract and worked closely with Leighton Contractors and project architect Richard Kirk Architects to deliver conceptual and formalised designs for all external and internal identity signage along with information, wayfinding and statutory signage requirements. The key element to the brief was to marry the signage design closely to the architectural elements of the building’s design. The addition of a scrolling ‘ticker tape’ display with automatic RSS feeds from ABC’s servers was well received adding dynamic signage to complement the ABC brand’s function.
